to enable Multiplayer mode you need to do a few things:
first, make 2 shortcuts to BS3.exe

Name the first shortcut "Host" and the second "Join".
Now you will need to add some commandline options ...

Host...
right click on the "Host" shortcut and select "Properties"
in the "target" field, it should say something like
"C:\ ....... BS3.exe"
after the .exe" add a space and "/H" so it looks like
"C:\ ....... BS3.exe" "/H"
Now, whenever you doubleclick the "Host" shortcut,
the game will launch and permit others to join the game...

Join...
This is simular to the "Host" , but is more specific ...
Right click on the "Join" shortcut and select "properties". In the "target" field it says something like
"C:\ ....... BS3.exe"
after the .exe" add a space and then "address of host"
so it looks like
"C:\ ....... BS3.exe" "123.123.123.123" where
the numbers are the IP address of the host computer.

This method works best for LAN systems where the local IP
addresses do not change. For internet play, this
will require third party chat apps to help locate
the IP address of a player.
